Flying steps

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThese were a little high, but they had a bit of ground under them so up I went…three sets of them.  Someone on u-tube had managed to make them look like they were over the edge so I did not think I would climb them…I could not find the angle they used to take their picture or I would have tried to look that brave myself!

The llama stone

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWell, it is not really a llama stone, but when the sun hits it just right – there was only fog when I took the picture – it’s shadow looks like a llama’s head and neck.  It really is more a compass stone as it points to the 4 cardinal points of the compass, or so our guide Ramiro told us, no one had a compass to prove it with.  He did have a picture of the shadow, though.

Intipunku

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEven our guide called this a sundial – according to researchers, this was not a sundial.  It more likely was a representation of HuaynaPicchu which stands behind it and was used for ceremonial purposes.
