Mummy from the Huallamarca pyramid

20130510-155519.jpg

This mummified young lady was found with three child size mummies in the pyramid. It is known that this pyramid was first a temple; next a cemetery; lastly a town was built around it by the Inca. There are at least 20 more graves in it, but they stopped excavation in 2012. They often stop and let technology catch up to what they need to do. This young lady’s grave is replicated at the top of the pyramid where she was found.

The tomb of Santa Rosa of Lima

This tomb is in a room under the church. They displaced 18 tombs of the priests to give enough room for people to gather and pass by Rosa’s tomb.
