20130509-203615.jpg

This building shows the walled balconies. These were used as corridors between the rooms. Also, one could sit and look out without being observed by those in the streets. The street lights are also made to look as if from that period.

Catholic Church built on the ruins of an Inca Sun Temple

20130509-202509.jpg

The Spanish destroyed the Inca Sun Temple that sat on this site and used the foundations to build their church on. They destroyed all to prove that their god was superior, but many Peruvians, though now Catholic, retain their respect for the elements that shaped the Inca world.
This church sits in the square where the governor lives and works in Lima. City Hall is also in that square -Lima currently has it’s first female mayor.
